Syarifah Kirana collection at MIFA 2009/ Asia Magic Gala

An opening of Asia Magic Gala at Malaysia International Fashion Week 2009

Before the start of the evening, I did not know what or how much to expect from Syarifah Kirana. Don’t get me wrong, I have heard of her and her work countless times but I must say, I was pleasantly surprised that evening with her collection at Asia Magic Gala night. A clever combination of high-fashion couture marry wearable gowns. We especially like the cheeky caricature , Swarovski embellish gowns.

To summarize the collection – its detail, intricate embellishments and clever combination, hours and hours of work must have been put into masterpieces of impressive collections and if budget is not a problem, you might just find the perfect wedding dress (or baju pengantin) at Syarifah Kirana. But don’t say we didn’t warn you, a bride donning a gown from this collection must walk, breathe and ooze with style and confidence.

Renown New York supermodel Ai Tominaga looking surreal in Syarifah Kirana design

Again to emphasis what we have always advocate, a kebaya inspired wedding gown is not just for a Malay bride. It might probably be your perfect evening gown if not a wedding gown. You can’t go wrong in it, accentuating your womanly curves at the right place. And renown New York Supermodel, Ai Tominaga proof it right as seen here.
Allow me my honest review, compared to Ai Tominaga, other models (save for a few veteran) at Malaysia International Fashion Week has lots to learn and I hope they do. Afterall, designers are at their mercy after painstakingly working on their collection for months.

Well done Syarifah! We love it, love it, love it!
